Photography day for florists and growers - using DSLR or mirrorless cameras
One date
Wednesday 5th June - 10 to 3pm
At Wild Bunch, Leintwardine, Shropshire
Group size is limited to 4
£130
One to one sessions available
Join myself and Tammy from Wild Bunch for a one day workshop discovering how to create stunning images of florals and growing spaces.
Group size is limited to four so that everyone can have plenty of one to one time to really get the best from the day.
We will begin by covering the foundations needed to take creative control of your camera - aperture, shutter speed and ISO. We will also look at the principles of working with light and composition.
After this we will gather our equipment and head to the flower field and other areas of the setting to apply what we have learned to different floral set ups – both inside and outside.
Floral arrangements will be provided by Tammy but you are welcome to bring your own flowers/arrangement, or create one on the day with flowers provided. We will practice photographing inside against different backdrops and in different types of light.
Wild Bunch is a stunning location which will be full of flowers from June onwards. There is plenty of opportunity to create images of the natural surroundings such as the orchard, flower garden and polytunnel. Tammy also had a beautiful selection of tools and props to choose from to create a stunning still and practice telling a story through our images.
For those interested we can also cover how to use artificial light, diffusers and reflectors to create the look you want in the space you have.
At the end of the day there will also be the opportunity to look at Lightroom editing software so you can consider if editing in this software would be right for you.
Lunch
A light lunch will be provided, please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
Bring along
The course is designed for those using a camera that can switch to aperture priority or manual mode. This can be a DSLR, a compact, bridge or mirrorless camera. If you are unsure whether your camera can switch to manual/aperture priority then please e-mail the make and model name to me. A Nikon or Cannon DSLR can be provided if you would like to borrow one.
If you have a tripod do bring it along! You can borrow ours if you would like to practice using one. Tripods are useful for many things – for example enabling you to slow down the shutter speed to help create light and airy images, helping maintain consistent images while you change the set up (distance, angle of view etc) and to create shots which feature yourself.
There will be a workshop handout based on the main concepts that we cover on the day.
Cancellation policy
A full refund will be given if you need to cancel your place up to 21 days before the event. If you need to cancel after that, and we can find a replacement in time, you will also receive a full refund.
